Student Proposals
Information for Students Submitting Online IRB Proposals:
The IRB welcomes online proposals from students. However, there are a few things to remember to ensure that the proposal review process goes smoothly:
- You will be asked to specify a start date for your project. Please note that you should allow at least 5 working days (or 7 calendar days) for the review of your proposal before you begin your project. Specifying a start date too close to the date of your proposal submission will delay the review process unnecessarily.
- You will be asked to provide the name and contact information for the faculty member who is supervising your project. Please note that it is your responsibility to notify the faculty member of your online proposal. He or she will need to log in to the system and indicate a willingness to supervise your project by selecting the “Agree” button in the “Student Project” section of the proposal. Without this agreement, your proposal cannot be approved.
- In order for the system to correctly identify you and your Principal Investigator (faculty supervisor), you will need to correctly enter Minnesota State Mankato email addresses. If you are unsure of the faculty member’s email address, please use the directory function on the Minnesota State Mankato website: http://www.mnsu.edu/find/people.php
If you have questions or concerns about the online proposal system, please contact Jennifer Chelstrom at 507-389-2321 or jennifer.chelstrom@mnsu.edu.
