Research Calendar
Learn to utilize the Community of Science products and services to find funding opportunities, promote your work, identify experts, manage resources, and collaborate with colleagues.
Participants will learn University guidelines for preparing a budget and establishing a cost center. The information will be applicable to external grants and contracts as well as internal grants such as the Faculty Research Grant (FRG).
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will host a panel of faculty who have successfully applied for external funding. They will share their insights on the benefits of external support, give tips and guidance on composing proposals, and answer questions from participants.
This introductory session offers hands-on experience with preparing proposals on Grants.gov and NSF FastLane. Grants.gov has been designated by the Office of Management and Budget as the single access point for all grant programs offered by 26 Federal grant-making agencies. It provides a single interface for agencies to announce their grant opportunities and for all grant applicants to find and apply for those opportunities. FastLane is the electronic proposal submission system for the National Science Foundation (NSF). It is the online website through which NSF conducts their relationship to researchers and potential researchers, reviewers, and research administrators and their organizations.
This workshop will focus on the uploading and submission process for National Institutes of Health Proposals. Participants will learn how to utilize Grants.gov and the ERA Commons in the NIH proposal submission process. The workshop will prepare participants to successfully complete the steps in the application and submission processes: preparing to apply, finding opportunities and downloading the application package, preparing the application, submitting the application to Grants.gov, checking submission status in ERA Commons, and checking the assembled application.
