GRC–Graduate Research Conference
The President’s Commission on Diversity is accepting applications for diversity related development and research grants, as well as nominations for the President’s Diversity Award.
Recipients of the grant may receive stipends of up to $500 to attend professional conferences related to issues of diversity in higher education or to conduct research in this area. Grants will be awarded in two categories: students, and faculty and staff.
Applications for the grant are due Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, and Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, and will only be accepted by students, faculty and staff from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
The College of Graduate Studies and Research will provide financial assistance to support thesis related research expenses. Funding is available on a limited basis. This financial support is currently available only to students completing a thesis as the program capstone project.
Appropriate uses of these funds include the purchase of consumable supplies, specialized tools, or an instrument to facilitate data collection. Funding proposals that may eventually add to university or departmental libraries are encouraged.
There are two rounds of review. Deadlines to request funding are October 1 and February 1.
Students may apply as many times as they wish; however, a student may receive funding from this initiative only once.
Additional information and the required form can be found at http://grad.mnsu.edu/student/thesisfunding.html
The College of Graduate Studies and Research provides travel awards to students whose scholarly/creative work has been accepted for presentation at a regional or national conference. The number of awards is limited, and funding will be distributed until funds are depleted. The maximum award is $200. Students must also receive matching assistance from their home department and/or college.
Application is by letter, which should include the student’s program, contact information, a brief description of the scholarly/creative work, the conference at which it will be presented, and a proposed budget for the trip.
