Beginning fall 2020, the Institutional Review Board (IRB) will require that all researchers provide proof of training in matters related to IRB. In preparation for this required training, IRB is asking all researchers including student researchers to voluntarily complete the required training. When you do you, you can download your completion report and add it to any IRB submissions. Starting in fall 2020, IRB will return submissions without review if the CITI training documents for all researchers associated with the research are not uploaded with your submission. There are links below that list the required training for faculty and staff and for student researchers.
*CITI = Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Program, developed by collaborative group of clinical researchers funded by Office of Research Integrity, Dept. of Health & Human Resources, US Gov. - a series of online educational modules regarding the ethical and responsible conduct of research. The modules will take several hrs. to complete. They can be saved and finished at intervals. Training is valid for 5 years and is free to MSU faculty, staff, and students.
The first thing you will need to do is register for an account with CITI. If you need help registering, see the link below "Register with CITI video help". Once you have registered with CITI, you will need to add the necessay course. For video assistance select, the appropriate training course video from the list below.
