LATE THESIS OR DISSERTATION SUBMISSIONS:

Thesis or dissertation submissions made to The Office of Graduate Studies after the due date will result in your degree being awarded the following semester.

In some cases, a thesis or dissertation that is submitted after the due date will also result in the student being required to enroll in graduate credit for the following semester. Please see below for further detail:

  • If a thesis or dissertation is submitted after the deadline, but before the first day of the following semester, the student will not be required to register for additional credits.
  • If a thesis or dissertation is submitted after the deadline and after the first day of the following semester, the student will be required to register for credit in that following semester.

LATE RECOMMENDATION FOR AWARDING/CONFERRAL OF THE DEGREE FORMS:

A degree cannot be awarded without this form having been submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies. If the form is delayed in being submitted, the degree may also be delayed in being awarded.
Additional Notes:
  • IRB proposals are to be submitted and approved prior to starting research projects.
  • The Written Comprehensive Examination Request and Report forms, if required by the department, are due by the end of the semester of graduation.
  • Students completing other Capstone Experiences such as Alternate Plan Papers, Creative Projects, Portfolios, etc. should check with their respective departments for due dates of those items.
