In collaborative research, authorship decisions can be complex, and recent data from MSU researchers indicate that many of us have struggled to navigate these decisions ourselves,
especially in projects involving faculty-student collaboration. This workshop
explores these issues with attention to how expectations vary across
disciplines, and it presents practical strategies for making thoughtful,
transparent authorship decisions, including tools like the CRediT taxonomy
and authorship agreements.
