Dietetics, Master of Science (M.S.)

The Masters in Dietetics is part of the overall Professional Program in Dietetics which is a transitional Masters. Students can apply to begin the Professional Program while attending MSU as an undergraduate student. Non-MSU students with a Bachelor's in Dietetics may be eligible to enter the program at the graduate level. Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to reach out to the Program Director for consideration of your individualized pathway to Dietetics. 

Program Highlights

  • The Masters in Dietetics is an ACEND-accredited "Future Education Model" program which utilizes competency-based education and integrates didactic learning with Supervised Experiential Learning in the field.
  • The 2-year Master's program is available as part of the overall 3-year Professional Program in Dietetics for students wanting to enter a dietetics program at the undergraduate level. 
  • The 2-years Master's program is also available for students who have previously earned a Bachelor's in Dietetics and have all the appropriate courses. 
  • There are multiple pathways to becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) today and interested students are strongly encouraged to reach out to the Program Director for their individual pathway to the profession.
  • The Masters in Dietetics is a 2 year program and includes all 1000 hours of Supervised Experiential Learning as an ACEND-accredited graduate program.

Application Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Dietetics (DPD) or a Bachelor's in another field with all required undergraduate courses completed.
  • A 3.0 GPA
